Hermanus

Once a small fishing village, Hermanus has developed in a civilised manner to a major destination for Capetonians and not only. It is considered to be the best place on earth for shore whale watching. There is a big choice of hotels, bars and restaurants, and the city is famous for its Cliff path-walking trail that actually crosses the city (passing right in front of our hotel) and brings you to the cliffs, where you get magnificent views, whales or not. This city was our station for two days while exploring the southern Cape: Cape Agulhas (included in the slideshow), the most southern point of Africa, Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope.
